"James Pomerantz traveled to Waskaganish, a Cree village on James Bay, Quebec, near where Henry Hudson was last seen 400 years ago. As he learned about the deleterious effects of massive hydroelectric projects on the area, Pomerantz became interested in the Cree, whose lands have been seized and whose traditional way of life threatened. An experienced photojournalist, Pomerantz challenges the standard representational strategies of his profession in telling the James Bay story."
